R15 Fairing Fastener

The R15 V3 2019-2020 is using a plastic fairing fastener system thats easy to snap on and snap off as long as you know how. But if you don”t you cauld accidentally damage the fastener or worst your expensive fairings.Now I made this blog for newbiles who are not yet familiar with this type of fastener. I have heard of some, who made a mistake of pulling the fasteners while on lock position, loosing one or more of the fastener’s teeth that locks and fastens the fairing parts tightly together. Worst scenario some can pull the fastener while on lock position and crack the fairing or increase the diameter of the fastener hole.

To prevent damaging both the lock and your fairings you should know how to unlock the fastener first before removing it. Now there are three ways to unlock the fastener.● One is to push the pin in the middle halfway inward.● Another is to push the pin from the other side outward halfway.● And last is to push the pin out all the way from either side. Warning: The pin is kinda small so be sure to catch it. It can be hard to find if you loose it. Specially for the visually challenged like me.Watch on Youtube
